How does passing in soccer transfer to other activities?

Learning Objectives

PSYCHOMOTOR: Most students will be able to trap their soccer ball using the bottom of their foot, three out of four times, by the end of class. 
COGNITIVE: Most students will be able to explain what the proper form of a soccer kick should look like by the end of class. 
AFFECTIVE: Most students will be able to complement their teammates after knocking over the pins in the game of kicking at targets. 
HEALTH-RELATED FITNESS: By the end of class, most students will be able to explain how endurance benefits them in a game of soccer.

Standard 2: The physically literate individual applies knowledge of concepts, principles, strategies and tactics related to movement and performance.

  • Other groups in the gymnasium: equipment/students entering playing space
  • Students running into each other
  • Untied shoelaces
  • Sliding on the gym floor (if lesson carried out inside) 
  • Glass/sharp objects in the grass (if lesson carried out outside) 

Modifications for Differently-Abled Students

  • Larger ball used for kicking 
  • More pins/targets

Assessments
