Yoga & Meditation Unit
Unit Description
Students will be introduced to various yoga poses, as well as taught the benefits of meditation. By the end of the unit, students will be able to properly demonstrate sun salutations. Students will also have the opportunity to work with small groups to create an original yoga routine utilizing a wide range of poses.

Assessments & Evidence of Student Learning
Informal teacher observation and feedback will be provided to students throughout the entire unit. Students will be asked to engage in various yoga poses and demonstrate the necessary asanas to complete a sun salutation. The unit will conclude with an authentic assessment in which students will demonstrate understanding of several asanas, as well as the changing of breath as one moves through each asana.
